As an automotive photographer based in London, UK I’ve always loved anything with wheels and when I picked up my first DSLR camera 6 years ago I knew I could combine my love of cars and my newly found love of photography. I’ve always been drawn to SIGMA lenses not just because of their price point but because of their excellent image and build quality.

I specialise in a technique called light-painting. This is where I use a long exposure and then light the subject with a light source to get the image I want.

My first experience with a SIGMA lens was with the SIGMA 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM | Art lens on my Nikon D7200 crop sensor camera. The below image was shot at F13 ISO100 and with an exposure of 13 seconds. This would give me enough time to walk around the car with my light.

What I love about SIGMA 18-35mm | Art lens is that it is so sharp and very versatile allowing to shoot even in tight spaces.

This was shot in a small showroom at 18mm allowing me to get everything in my composition.

When I moved to the full frame Sony E-Mount a7Rii I had to bring SIGMA with me too. I choose the SIGMA 50mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art because of it incredible sharpness, fast to focus and it has a manual switch so I could lock the focus in.

After shooting with the SIGMA 50mm | Art I knew I had to add the SIGMA 35mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art to my camera bag to allow me to get wider shots. I’ve been shooting with the SIGMA 35mm | Art now as my main lens as it the perfect focal length for my needs and is just as sharp as the SIGMA 50mm | Art.
